Brett Meldrum: Guitar and Vocals
Jeff Hart: Guitar, Keyboard, and Vocals
Bryan Anderson: Bass
Tim Funk: Drums
While going to college I roomed with a great guy named Brett Meldrum. I knew he played guitar and it was pretty obvious for him that I play drums, but it took us about 4 months to actually start collaborating. We got together with a couple of friends of Brett named Jeff and Bryan and after toying with the idea of making the name Shallow End. After I left the band they then changed the name to Metzener and Ben Stay, awesome guy and great drummer, replaced me on the drums.
We really only played a couple of shows, but the shows we did play, we had a huge turnout. College towns tend to have a trickle effect and we were smart to play free shows, with free food, and just sell merchandise. This worked well and helped to fund a PA so we could create ad-hawk venues. The music was upbeat and great to get back into after a long time of not playing with anyone.
This was the only recording I was a part of with the band. This was a live show we recorded at the complex we lived in. The recording is not the greatest of quality, but we sure packed in a ton of people into the commons area. As mentioned before the band went on to change their name to Metzener where they released two awesome albums which I highly recommend checking out.
