This band was, in reality, a tribute to everything we loved about music at that time and about our small little town Scappoose, Oregon.  This was also my first official band, so it was pretty special to me.  Both of the guitarists were good friends of my older brothers, so I knew them pretty well.  Kevin, on the other hand, was around my age and while I had known him well and had played in jazz band together in high school, this was our first real project together (more to come on Kevin).   I learned a lot about myself and felt that I made a lot of mistakes on both a musical and personal level that I hope to never make again.

This was recorded in some guy’s basement North East Portland some time in 1999.  I just remember it being the first place I ever saw two monitors hooked up to one machine.  Of course these monitors were probably massive 19″ CRT monitors that weigh 30 lbs each.  There was a fill I played near the end of “In Your Trap” where Doug said I sounded just like Carter Beauford from the Dave Matthews Band.  It was a nice complement, and it definitely help alleviate the stresses of my first time recording in a studio.
